Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in width consisting of a gold dexter mailed fist rising from a red wall mortared gold and grasping a diagonally crossed gold arrow and rifle, all interlaced with and enclosed in base by a green tripartite scroll enclosed and inscribed in gold "VIGILANCE" on the left, "HONOR" at bottom and "COURAGE" on the right.

Symbolism
Green and yellow (gold) are colors traditionally associated with the Military Police Corps. The Battalion's historic association with Fort Leavenworth is recalled by the flintlock rifle and native Indian arrow. They are upheld by a mailed fist, symbolizing honor, courage and strength of purpose. The crenellated wall represents security and vigilance and sacrifice.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 9 October 1991.

Vert, issuant from a tower Gules (Brick Red) fimbriated and mortared Or, a dexter cubit arm in armor, the hand in a gauntlet grasping an arrow and rifle saltirewise, all within a bordure of the last.

Crest

From a wreath Or and Vert issuing from a palm wreath of the first banded in base Gules, Argent and Sable, a demi-griffin rampant Argent (Silver Gray) armed and langued of the third supporting between its claws a key erect ward up to sinister of the fifth.

Crest

The colors green and yellow (gold) are used for the Military Police Corps.  The griffin symbolizes vigilance and courage.  Its gray color, reflecting the look of steel, underscores toughness and resolve.  The key represents the unit's internment and resettlement mission and the black color suggests the robes of justice.  The palm wreath, symbol of peace, alludes to the trees of the Middle East and signifies the unit's Iraq campaign credit in the region.  The colors of the wreath's banding are adapted from the Iraqi National Flag.

Background
The coat of arms was approved on 28 December 2005.  It was amended to add a crest on 2 March 2010.
